Blue light hazard assessment system

Blue light hazard assessment system

Blue Light Hazard

The SEDIS measuring system assesses the blue light hazard of light sources and luminaires according to the IEC/TR 62778:2014 procedure.

The scope of supply includes a SEDIS-manufactured spectrometer that measures radiance in the 300–700 nm range, a steradian tube, two interchangeable aperture plates with aperture diameters of 20 mm and 2.2 mm, and dedicated software for blue light hazard assessment and PDF report generation.

  • Measurement at a distance of 200 mm.
  • 100 mrad field of view (20 mm diameter aperture).
  • 11 mrad field of view (2.2 mm diameter aperture).
  • Blue light hazard assessment and measurement report generation.
  • Complete supply including spectrophotometer, steradian tube and dedicated software.

MEASUREMENT, ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING

OPTICAL CONFIGURATION

The steradian tube is 200 mm in length and is equipped with two interchangeable aperture plates:

  • 20 mm aperture for a 100 mrad field of view;
  • 2.2 mm aperture for an 11 mrad field of view.

SPECTRAL ACQUISITION

The assessment uses the spectral range from 300 to 700 nm, with a resolution of:

  • 1 nm from 300 to 400 nm;
  • 5 nm from 400 to 700 nm.

The software processes the acquired data to assess the blue light hazard.

MEASUREMENT RESULTS

The software generates a PDF report stating the blue light hazard risk group and the label to be affixed to the luminaire.
