Goniophotometer with a Spectrometric Probe for Lighting and Horticulture
One system for photometry, spectrometry and horticultural measurements
ICCS-SH Type 1 is a Type 1 far-field goniophotometer with a spectrometric probe, designed to characterise luminaires and light sources. It combines photometric measurement with spectral and colorimetric acquisition. For horticultural lighting, it also measures the spatial distribution of PPFD and calculates total PPF.
During measurement, the detector remains fixed while the sample rotates sequentially about two orthogonal axes. The centre of rotation coincides with the photometric centre of the luminaire. The system supports C–Gamma and V–H coordinate systems.
General Lighting Measurements
Spatial distribution of luminous intensity and luminous flux measurement
Absolute and relative photometric measurements
Spectral irradiance acquisition and calculation of colorimetric parameters
Export of results in EULUMDAT (.ldt) and IESNA (.ies) formats
Horticultural Lighting Measurements
Spatial distribution of photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD)
Calculation of total photosynthetic photon flux (PPF)
Export of photometric data in EULUMDAT (.ldt) and IESNA (.ies) formats
System Design and Data Acquisition
The system consists of a removable spectrophotometer, which can also be used as a portable instrument, and a motorised structure with two degrees of freedom to move the device under test. Two laser pointers assist positioning and alignment. The software guides the operator through measurement setup, processes the data automatically and stores them in an SQL database.
The system stops at each angular position during measurement to support accuracy and repeatability. The minimum resolution is 0.1° for C planes and 1° for Gamma angles.
Spectral and Colorimetric Analysis
ICCS-SH Type 1 acquires spectral irradiance and calculates parameters including chromaticity coordinates, correlated colour temperature (CCT), colour rendering index (CRI), Fidelity Index, Gamut Area Index and TLCI. The software also enables analysis of the directional distribution and angular uniformity of colour.
